The Challenge:
The same tunnel was littered once again with the usual trash. We teamed up with local youth and cleanup crews to remove the waste, dividing the cleanup so our family, friends and children—could help in the safest part of the site.

The Goal:
To make the space safe and clean again. We also observed the site very frequently—several times a day or daily—over the following days and weeks to track patterns: how quickly it became dirty again, what type of trash appeared first, and whether there were specific times of day when littering increased.

What We Did:
Cleaning the tunnel with family and friends while making it safe for children to participate. We carried out a thorough inspection, and then completed a full clean-up. We identified unsafe areas (broken glass or heavily soiled spots) so the children knew clearly where they could not go. We refined and adapted our ideas to fit the authorities’ requirements and restrictions.
